Graphics Damaged by Improper Pressure Washing

As shown in the photo below, peeling, tearing, and other damage can occur from improper pressure washing of graphics. The recommendations for pressure washing include:
·        A pressure of 1200 psi and a water temperature of 120° F should not be exceeded.
·        The nozzle should feature a 40 degree wide spray pattern.
·        The nozzle should be kept at least 12 inches away from the graphics, and the water stream should be perpendicular to the surface.  Decal edges may lift if pressurized water is applied at a sharp angle.
·        Wash from the top downward using a wet, non-abrasive cleaning detergent with a pH between 3 and 11 that does not contain solvents or alcohol.
·        Follow all manufacturers’ directions for care, safety instructions, and use of their cleaning solutions.  Be sure to pay attention to the dilution instructions as too strong of a mixture can damage your graphics.  Do not allow cleaning solutions to remain on the surface of the graphics any longer than instructed.
·        Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all of the cleaning solution.
·        Perforated window film can be damaged easily by pressure washers.  It is strongly recommended to hand-wash perforated window film.

  1. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post; I’ll try to get the hang of it! Pressure Washing Louisville KY
