Up to Code: Window Graphics
Sign of the Times, August 2013, shared details of a statute in Oregon which provided "that anything impeding the view out of the rear window (of a vehicle) was a violation." This included perforated window film used in vehicle wraps, even though many perforated window films allow for sufficient visibility through windows. As a result of the lobbying efforts of a local vehicle graphics manufacturer, a new law was passed unanimously by the state legislature that excludes window graphics entirely from a new vehicle-visibility ordinance. When considering window graphics, it is important to research your local ordinances, codes, and regulations to avoid citations and/or having to remove your window graphics and waste your advertising investment.
